THE BROMSGROVE branch of the Royal British Legion has a new official mascot.
Spotted miniature pony Kilcummer Pluto, or ‘Peanut’ for short, is just 26 inches high and will be one year old on July 29.
He was acquired on May 7 by the Bromsgrove RBL’s chairman Patrick Smith who will primarily be using him as a therapy pony for his company PS Training. Among his duties will be to visit residents in care homes and students in learning disability establishments and schools.
Patrick told The Standard: “My partner and I did have a full-sized pony but had to give him up when we both got injured and were unable to ride him.
“We have been looking for a miniature pony for a while now and it’s great we have found Peanut – he’s just the right temperament.”
Peanut has been seen out and about around the town, including near the war monument, the town centre and even having a paddle in Sanders Park.
“We have had a lot of interest in him already from care homes and when we’ve been out and about – he was even featured on Spotted Bromsgrove.”
Patrick added Peanut had become a bit of celebrity around the town and people could not wait to see and pet him.

Peanut will all be present and participate in military parades in the town, including Remembrance Sunday and Armed Forces Day.
