A MAN has been ordered to pay more than £700 after being unable to produce Waste Transfer Notes detailing where he had been disposing waste collected as part of his house and garden clearance business.
George Anderson, 21, of Friar Park Road, Wednesbury, was fined £300 with £400 costs when he appeared at Redditch Magistrates Court on September 10.
He was also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge.
It related to an incident when Anderson failed to produce Waste Transfer Notes for his business when he was stopped in Bromsgrove by police as part of routine checks.
The court heard Anderson had previously received a fixed penalty notice when he initially failed to produce the relevant paperwork but had been prosecuted following his failure to pay.
Bromsgrove District Council’s head of environmental services Guy Revans said: “We need to make sure that waste being disposed of in our district is done so properly and our enforcement team remains diligent to do just this.”
