BROMSGROVE residents have been urged to be on the lookout for a teenager who has gone missing from Walsall and could be in the town.

Ashika Yates, aged 17, was reported missing in the early hours of Sunday, September 6. She was last seen on the evening of Saturday the 5th but had left her home in Walsall by morning and told her partner over the phone she was on a train to Bromsgrove. It is not known if she did board the train or arrive in Bromsgrove.

She has not been seen or heard from since and her family are growing increasingly worried for her welfare.

Investigating Officer Stephanie Warren said: “We are appealing for anyone who has seen Ashika, or a girl matching her description to get in contact with us as soon as possible.”

“Ashika has contacts within Redditch and Bromsgrove and could possibly be in this area.”

“This is very out of character for Ashika and we urge the public to be on the lookout for her in order to help us ensure she is safe and well.”

Ashika is 5ft2 in height, of a slim build with brown shoulder length hair and a tanned complexion. She has a scar on her right arm and her tongue is pierced.

Anyone who has any information which could help police trace Ashika is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 48 of 6th September 2015.
