THE SUMMER season ended in despair for Barnt Green Tennis Club as their Men’s A team were controversially relegated from the top flight.
Green needed Wall Heath to lose on the final day to avoid the drop, but Bromsgrove’s decision not to send a team for the encounter cost them their place.
The campaign also ended on a low note for Mixed A team who suffered a 4-0 defeat to Manor Park A.
Survival in the division had already been secured which was perhaps reflected in the performances of James Hodges with Rachel Scott and a jaded James Flynn with Pauline Harman.
Their performances over the season were enough to attain a very respectable fourth place in the top division.
