Chance to get out and about in Romsley

A NEW 2.25mile circular walk using public rights of way has been launched in Romsley.

The short, easy-to-follow stroll, which uses a number of waymarkers, is aimed at getting residents out and about to explore the Worcestershire countryside.

The official opening of the route, which is part of the Walk Worcestershire series of circulars, was done by seven-year-old Eve Palmer who goes to Romsley’s St Kenelms Primary School.

It starts at the Swallows Nest pub in Romsley village which provides an ideal opportunity for refreshments for thirsty walkers.

There have been a host of improvements thanks to the co-operation of area’s landowners and the hard work of Parish Paths Warden Stuart Smith, who has been instrumental in the development of the route.

Amanda Hill, a countryside access volunteers officer, said: “The 2.25mile circular was enjoyed by the 65 participants on the walk launch.

“It was pleasing to see such local enthusiasm and hear that it will be used locally for other events in the future.”
