STAFF and pupils at Meadows First School are celebrating after being awarded a ‘Quality Mark’ for Early Years.
The accolade – for both nursery and reception – came after an external assessor from the Quality Mark Alliance carried out an inspection.
As part of the vigorous assessment, he visited the early years classrooms during teaching sessions, spoke to children and staff, looked at planning and assessment, examined the children’s work and spoke to the governors, parents and senior leadership team.
A spokesperson for the school said: “Wendy Dwyer, the early years co-ordinator, and the EYFS teachers worked hard on developing the early years environment and the curriculum, which was praised by the assessor.”
Headteacher Sue Hewitt said: “I would like to say a big well done to everyone and especially to the children.”
