A WOMAN was robbed of her £300 mobile phone as she walked down Worcester Road in the early hours of Saturday morning (May 31) after a night out.
At some point between 1am and 4am, a man the 21-year-old did not know approached her and took the Samsung Galazy S3 with a distinctive OtterBox protective case. He took it by force from her hand after she tussled with the raider.
The next thing she remembers is waking up on the floor with her phone missing. She had sustained cuts and bruises to her face and bruising to her knee but did not need medical treatment.
The man was 5ft 11ins tall, of heavy build and had short dark hair. He was clean shaven with a pointy chin, and was wearing a short sleeved white top and dark trousers.
Det Con Ryan Townsend of West Mercia Police said the victim could not be sure of the exact time or location, but believed it was around the Worcester Road area.
“As well as wishing to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery, we would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing the woman walking in the area, as this will help us identity the time and location of the robbery.”
The woman was white with longer than shoulder length blonde hair. She was wearing black leggings, a black leather jacket with a multicoloured aztec print top underneath. She was also carrying a brown satchel type bag with a strap.
Witnesses or anyone with any information should call DC Townsend on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
