BROMSGROVE opticians have come up with a bright idea to keep children safe on their way to and from school.
Staff from Specsavers, on the High Street, donated 86 high-visibility vests to pupils at Meadows First School as part of Road Safety Week which began on Monday (November 17) and runs until Sunday (November 23).
The company is a co-sponsor of the campaign which is organised by charity Brake and helps to raise awareness of protecting people on bikes and on foot.
The vests will help children be seen when walking to and from the Stourbridge Road site, as well as when they go out on school trips.
Mark Gibson, from Specsavers, said: “Now the clocks have gone back and the evenings are dark, it’s more important than ever that children can be seen clearly.
“Hopefully, the vests will give teachers and parents some peace of mind.”
