A FORMER North Bromsgrove High School teacher who was accused of four counts of sexually assaulting two 14-year-old girls has been cleared of all the charges.

David John Crowther, of West Road, pleaded not guilty to two counts of squeezing a 14-year-old girl’s bottom, one count of touching a 14-year-old girl’s bottom and a further count of slapping a 14-year-old girl’s bottom.

After a four day trial at Hereford Crown Court, which he opted for when he appeared at Redditch Magistrates’ Court earlier this year, a jury acquitted Mr Crowther, finding the 56-year-old not guilty of any of the charges.

David Hadley-Pryce, North Bromsgrove High School headteacher, said: “We take the safeguarding of our pupils extremely seriously and have supported the police with their investigations.

“The matter is now personal to the individual involved.”
