A WYTHALL man who ran a marathon 20 years ago will be on the starting line again to raise money for the NSPCC.
Kevin Brewster, of The Spinney, will be lacing up his trainers at the London Marathon on April 24, next year, and has already kicked a smoking habit to get back into shape to raise funds for the cause.
The 43-year-old is running everyday before he starts work, at Broad Lane Leisure in Alcester, as part of his 27- week training programme to get ready for the challenge.
He said: “I did the first marathon 20 years ago with my girlfriend. Since then we have got married and had two children.
“Having them has made me much more aware of the terrible things that can happen to children in the world and that is why I decided to do this for NSPCC.”
Kevin also entered a Children in Need competition where he won a Pudsey Bear, which he has put on ebay to help him reach his target of raising £2,200.
