A WOMAN whose car crashed into a metal bollard in Bromsgrove, leaving the bonnet in a V-shape, had to be anaesthetised on the scene.

The incident, outside Marlborough Court on New Road, took place about 6.35am on Saturday (September 8).

The 23-year-old woman was semi-conscious when ambulance crews arrived and found her in her Vauxhall Astra.

Due to her medical condition and possible head injury a doctor and a critical care paramedic anaesthetised her there before they took her to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

An ambulance, paramedic area support officer and a MERIT trauma doctor attended the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
