VISITORS from all over the country were given a rare opportunity to see the Tardebigge Lime Kilns last weekend.

The event was organised by members of the Worcester-Birmingham and Droitwich Canal Society.

Volunteers Bill Lambert, Pete Oakley, Mary Green and the ‘58’ Team were on hand to welcome the visitors who really enjoyed themselves.

There was a great display for people to peruse, including a range of artefacts at the event held as part of the Heritage Open Weekend.

The volunteers undertook a number of roles, including ‘tour guides’ and ‘greeters’.

A spokesperson for the society said: “It was a great day, and many visitors were very impressed and vowed to come along to future meetings in Alvechurch.”
