Two taken to hospital after van hits tree in Hagley after crash with car

A MAN and a teenager have both been taken to one of the major trauma centre at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital after crash involving a van, a car and a tree.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Birmingham Road in Hagley, near to the Beefeater Restaurant, shortly before 8am on Wednesday (February 3)The van sustained significant damage after colliding with the car and then hitting the tree.

The van driver, who was in his 30s, managed to free himself before lying down across the back seats.

He was treated for a head injury and was not fully conscious when he was taken by ambulance to the QE. The doctor from the Midlands Air Ambulance travelled with the patient to continue treatment en-route.




The passenger, a teenager, also freed himself and was treated for minor injuries before being taken to the same hospital as a precaution.

The car driver was uninjured in the incident.
