THERE will be plenty of laughs at Dodford Village Hall next weekend when the Fairbourne Dodders stage The Actress by Peter Quilter.

The show, at 7.30pm next Friday and Saturday (July 3 and 4), centres on events backstage as a colourful, complicated actress makes her emotional farewell performance.

Pandemonium breaks out as people from her life invade the dressing room to say their goodbyes, declare their love, roar with laughter, throw insults, have a final hug or to resume old battles.

Tickets, which are £12 and include a hot supper, are available from Lesley Bodley on 07788 684412.

Performances start at 7.30pm and there will also be a licensed bar featuring beers from Bromsgrove Bird’s Brewery which sponsors the Dodders and works closely with the group.
