TEENAGERS aged between 13 and 19 are being urged to take part in free craft workshops and create something special for this year’s Bromsgrove St George’s Day celebrations.
The next sessions will be held at the Startlight Community Centre, Humphrey Avenue, between 5pm and 7pm on Wednesday (March 23), April 13 and April 20.
Activities on offer include England-themed drawing, painting and making, all under the supervision of a professional artist.
There will also be free pizza and refreshments for everyone that attends.
The final artwork will be part of a stall at the St Georges Day event on April 23.
Coun Rod Laight, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “It’s important for young people to have something positive to get involved in.
“At this time of the year, with Easter and school holidays, there tends to be a lot of things for younger children to do but teens get left out.
“These sessions mean that young people can get involved in something productive as well as making new friends and having lots of fun – and free pizza.”
Young people are welcome to attend as many workshops as they wish.
The events are being organised by Bromsgrove District Council in partnership with VIPA, YMCA Worcestershire and Bromsgrove District Housing Trust.
