THERE should be another bloomin’ great show at Bromsgrove’s Burcot Garden Centre on Thursday (September 15) when the Shirley Chrysanthemum Society holds its annual show.
This year there will be 15 classes in total, including three for non-members and two new floral art classes. Those are open to non-members, are chrysanthemum only and, because of sponsorship gained for them, have enhanced prizes.
This is the 73rd year of the Shirley Chrysanthemum Society and last year’s competition featured 61 vases of flowers with 217 blooms and four flower arrangements.
The society’s treasurer John Rogers thanked the garden centre for holding the show again and said everyone was welcome to the event.
“There is always a fantastic display at Burcot and we are hoping for a similar result this year.
Entries close on Tuesday (September 13) except for two classes which can be entered on the day – those small classes are the ones of one vase of any type with either three or five blooms.
