Rubery gets set for festive fun

Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Nov, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

DETAILS have been released about this year’s Rubery Christmas lights switch-on, which takes place in the village on November 28.

There will be a host of entertainment at the event on the car park next to the police station.

Among those performing between 3.30pm and 5.45pm will be The Candy Dolls, Sophie Thompson and Nathan Farrell who won the First International open mic competition, fighting off more than 12,000 singers worldwide.

The choir from St James Catholic School in Rednal will be belting out carols and ten-year-old Issi Young will also be taking to the stage.

There will be face-painting, arts and crafts, a snow machine and appearances from Father Christmas and the snowman before the countdown begins and the plunger is pushed to illuminate the village.
