THE ANNUAL RSPCA Family Funday and Dog Show will take place this Sunday (July 27) at the Birmingham Centre in Frankley Green.

Gates open at 11am with a variety of activities taking place between then and 3.15pm for pet owners, their families and their dogs.

Among the activities on offer at the funday, which promises to be the biggest and best one yet, will be a raffle, tombola, face-painting, old-fashioned fairground games, including a coconut shy, hoopla and a tin can alley.

There will be rosettes up for grabs at the dog show with categories including happiest dog, best trick, best puppy, best veteran, best rescue dog, waggiest tail, best condition, most appealing eyes and best junior handler.

Classes cost £2 each on the day.

There will be the dog agility scurry run and temptation alley, which is new for 2014, and those who go along will be able to refuel with refreshments and a cake stall.

Amy Weaver-Tyler, events manager for the RSPCA, said: “All money raised on the day will go towards the treatment and rehabilitation of many more animals at Birmingham.

“Sadly our services continue to be much in demand, so any support you can offer will make a huge difference.

“We very much look forward to welcoming you to our funday.”

The fun runs until 3.15pm and admission is £1 for adults and free for those under 16.
