AN APPEAL to fund a surgical robot to help prostate cancer patients is a quarter of the way to its target.
So far £40,000 of the £1.6million needed to pay for state of the art technology dubbed Rory The Robot has been raised by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
To get closer to the goal, Trust bosses are calling on 100 residents to join the ‘ten per cent club’ – with each person pledging to raise £1,600 throughout 2015 which combined would equal ten per cent of the overall money needed.
Fund-raiser Craig Burchell said: “£1,600 sounds like a lot of money but we have already seen the dedication the local population has put into this great cause.
“Our Ride for Rory in September raised over £7,000 towards the appeal.”
