Marlbrook had its own 30ft fountain after leak

Bromsgrove Editorial 15th Jan, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

THIS was the scene Bromsgrove residents were treated to this week when what looked like a giant water feature sprung up in Marlbrook.

The Standard was contacted about the leak by one man who lived nearby.

On seeing the gallons of water projected into the air, he described it as ‘the area’s new 30ft fountain’.

We sent our photographer Marcus Mingins to the scene of to capture the water jet which, with the surrounding trees and winter sunlight shining through it, looked pretty picturesque.

Seven Trent employees were in the Old Birmingham Road at 2.20pm today (Thursday) working to fix the problem posed by the new fountain.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We apologise to anyone affected by the leak.

“We have now fixed and completed the repairs to the pipe today and there were no customers affected.”

She added it was caused by a burst pipe on Monday that had got progressively worse.
