A MAN has been arrested following the death of a motorcyclist in Rubery yesterday (Monday).

Police now believe the rider of the Honda Fireblade was involved in a collision with a grey Honda Civic at about 2.30pm between Lydiate Ash and Rubery on the A38.

Emergency services were called and paramedics tried to treat the cyclist but his injuries proved fatal and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have now been informed.

A 48-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail until October 8.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash and are asking anyone with information to contact them on the non emergency 101 number or Crimsestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
