A DRIVER had a lucky escape when his car ended up in a ditch in Romsley and caught fire.
The incident happened at 11.22pm on Easter Sunday (April 5) on the village’s Shut Mill Lane.
One crew from Bromsgrove attended and gave the man oxygen after he suffered smoke inhalation.
They also administered basic first aid on his shoulder before handing him to paramedics for treatment.
He was discharged at the scene after his parents said they would take him to hospital to be checked out further.
Firefighters then made the vehicle safe.
