Longbridge residents urged to have their say on plans to build on golf club

A RALLYING call has gone out to South Birmingham residents to have their say on plans for housing to be built on North Worcestershire Golf Club.

Bloor Homes will be holding the public exhibition at Hollymoor Community Centre from 2pm to 8pm on Thursday (January 28).

The session will see the developer outline proposals for the site following previous consultation events, meetings, presentations and a design workshop.

Coun Andy Cartwright said: “There are a lot of concerns over traffic in Longbridge at the moment, especially on Longbridge Lane, and housing on that site can only make it worse. There will be other fears over flooding.

“The main thing is that we don’t know exactly is being proposed for the site yet so it is important as many residents as possible go along to see what is being put forward.

“Remember, nothing is set in concrete until an official planning application is put forward to Birmingham City Council and when that happens it will be even more important for residents to have their say.”

A spokesperson for Bloor Homes said the company was committed to producing a carefully considered proposal that not only provided a range of much-needed homes, but also delivered extensive community benefits.

“We would therefore welcome your views and comments,” he added.

Those wanting to attend should e-mail [email protected] or call 0121 232 5000.
