ALMOST £4,000 has been given to the Tiny Babies, Big Appeal by Longbridge Methodist Church which selected the cause as its chosen charity for the last 12 months.

A total of 15 events were held over the course of the year for the organisation which funds equipment for the sickest and smallest babies across the West Midlands.

As well as the £3,840 that was collected, youngsters also presented a load of tiny baby clothes made by members of the church.

Members of both the local community and the church have got behind the drive and David Rosser, one of the charity team, told The Standard: “We’d like to thank everyone who has helped in any way.

“We are already looking forward to organising events for the next year of fund-raising.”

The next charity the church will be collecting for is Mercy Ships UK – that sees hospital ship travel to some of the poorest parts of the World helping those in need.
