Just one week left to have your say on free evening parking in Bromsgrove

Bromsgrove Editorial 10th Jan, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

THERE is now just one week left for Bromsgrove residents to have their say on how they feel the year-long trial of free evening car parking has gone in the town centre.

The survey, set up in October on behalf of councillors in Bromsgrove District Council’s Evening Car Parking Task Group, asks the town’s residents and traders for their views on the district council’s move to make it free to park in its pay and display car parks between 7pm and 10pm.

The 12 month trial began in February and the survey closes next Friday (January 15).

The responses received will form part of the task group members’ work to scrutinise the impact of the trial, with their interim report to be considered by the Overview and Scrutiny Board at its meeting on January 18.

There will then be a final report released on March 21.

Leader of the task group and Perryfield ward councillor Karen May said: “We’ve been looking at the effects of the free parking trial in Bromsgrove, in terms of what has been successful and what might need improvement.

“Anyone that wants to have a say on it and has not yet done so still has this last week to get in touch.”

Residents should visit www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/consultations or contact the district council’s democratic services team at [email protected] or on 01527 881443 to have their say.
