THE ORGANISER of a fund-raising event in Bromsgrove in aid of Bipolar UK is hoping local businesses will offer her a helping hand and donate some prizes for a raffle to boost the cause’s coffers.
Charlotte Thorn is holding the afternoon at the Hop Pole Inn, Birmingham Road, at 2pm on July 19, in memory of her late boyfriend Luke Barrett who took his own life after a long-term battle with the condition.
Already planned for the event is a bouncy castle, barbecue, DJ Ian McManus who plays Northern Soul, games and face-painting.
“I had heard of Bipolar but didn’t know much about it and I think it will be the same for many people.
“Luke suffered from severe highs and lows for some time.
“I want to raise funds and awareness to help Bipolar sufferers in the future,” said Charlotte.
