A DRUNK teenager repeatedly pressed the intercom of Droitwich Police Station after she heard officers wanted to talk to her, a court has heard.
Officers received a call on the system at 7.20pm from Adelle Hardie, of Salwarpe Road in Bromsgrove, who asked if they were looking for her.
The 18-year-old continued to buzz the Ombersley Street site, but police couldn’t get any proper information from her as she was too drunk, Worcester Magistrates Court heard last Friday (August 15).
The ambulance service then called officers at 8.10pm after they attended a case of a young female ‘kicking off’. Police arrived at the scene to see Hardie being restrained by two women on the floor trying to calm her down, the court was also told.
She was swearing repeatedly at police and members of the public before she was arrested and taken back to the station.
Defending solicitor Paul Stanley said: “Why she found herself there she doesn’t know, she heard that police wanted to speak to her.
“She’s pressing the intercom asking if they wanted to speak to her, but she can’t really remember anything about going to the police station.
“She knows only too well that’s not acceptable behaviour.”
Hardie was fined £35 for the offence and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
District Judge Nigel Cadbury said: “I think you really need to try and settle down.
“It’s awful to see someone start to drink so young and have all these problems at 18 because it will result in you getting into more and more trouble.”
