JEWELLERY was stolen from a home in Dodford after a distraction burglary which took place at 8.45pm last night (Monday).

A man went to the home in Parish Hill and told the owner of the property he had seen two young lads go around to the back of his house.

The owner let the man go upstairs to check the lads were not in the house and he came back down moments later saying there was no one there.

He left via the front door and then, when the owner went upstairs, he found a drawer open and a number of items of jewellery missing.

The bogus caller was aged between 20 and 40.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
