THERE is now just a month to go until the Bromsgrove fun runs take place to raise cash for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Participants can choose between 5k and 10k at the event on May 10, with them both setting off from Bromsgrove Rugby Club.

More than 160 people have signed up for the runs, which is already 100 more than last year.

And this year, for the first time, the events will have chip timing which means all those running will be able to get an accurate finishing time.

Organsier Nicole Harris said: “We have already had an overwhelming response to this year’s event and we are hoping even more runners will be joining them on the start line.

“Both we and a lot of the runners are also excited about having chip timing for the first time as well.”

There will be prizes for those finishing first, second and third in each of the men’s and women’s races, prizes for both the veterans’ winners and runners who fund-raise prior to the event will also get a t-shirt on the day.

Aside from the race, there will also be a barbecue back at the rugby club, along with stalls and sports massages.

Admission to the event is £11.50 for Athletic Association affiliated members, £12.50 for the standard fee and £15 on the day.

Entrants will receive a fund-raising pass, a race number and some information about the day.
