A MUM who was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer is in Germany having treatment which it is hoped could save her life.
We reported on last Friday’s front page how £6,000 was needed so Hannah Biggs, 40, could go abroad for the procedure which rebuilds the immune system.
A total of £4,000 had been collected, leaving £2,000 to be raised.
After seeing the story on our website, Veronica Kumeta and Shelley Duncan came forward and donated the £2,000 and the family funday on Saturday at the Country Girl in Bromsgrove saw another £3,000 collected.
Maria Drew, the owner of the pub who met Hannah whilst going for treatment for her own breast cancer battle, said she was overwhelmed with the reaction.
“It was a great turn-out – we must have had more than 500 people come down throughout the day.
“People just kept coming and going and donating money – it was unbelievable.
“We are all hoping and praying the treatment will work.”
She added the treatment was ongoing so the Country Girl was running a continuous raffle to help with the after-care.
