A RALLYING call has gone out to young people in Bromsgrove and Redditch to join the two towns’ Sea Cadets’ ranks.
The group’s commanding officer Sub Lt (SCC) James Sanders RNR said they were looking for dedicated 12 to 18-year-olds and adult volunteers 18 and older.
“We offer our cadets a wide range of activities and foundation skills for later life,” he added.
Sub Lt Sanders joined the Sea Cadets aged 12 and now, 11 years later, having meet the Royal family, paraded in Trafalgar Square and gained a degree through the Sea Cadets, is calling upon other young people and volunteers to join his unit. ”
I have had some once in a lifetime opportunities, but the skills I have gained and the friends I have made, will stay with me for life.”
The unit based in Park farm industrial estate, Redditch, parades two nights a week.
Cadets can undertake waterborne activities, adventure training, Duke of Edinburgh awards and much more.
Volunteers undergo professional training and no prior military experience is needed.
