A BROMSGROVE teenager is heading for a prestigious dance school after impressing during auditions and an interview.

Elle-Jo Darby, 14, has booked her place for professional dance training at the Birmingham Hippodrome’s DanceXchange.

Elle, who also dances at the Latham School of Dance in Studley, will get to train every Sunday in contemporary dance and ballet.

Many from across the Midlands try out for the scheme but only a few make it and her mum Dena said she was proud of her daughter for her magnificent achievement.

She said: “She absoloutely loves her dance and this gives her another step in gaining professional training to further her future career in dance.”

She is also following in the dance steps of her older sister Codie who gained a place at DanceXchange three years ago and now trains full-time at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in Nottingham.

Elle is looking forward to her first day of training, which takes place this Sunday (September 21).
