TWO TEENAGE boys have collapsed while collecting their GCSE results from a school in Bromsgrove this morning (Thursday).

The students from South Bromsgrove High School were among the nail-biting pupils due to receive their grades but whilst our photographer, Marcus Mingins, was waiting to take pictures of the celebrating youngsters he said he saw two of them take a turn for the worst and faint about 10.30am. He rushed to the aid of the young boy before an ambulance was called.

A spokeswoman from the ambulance service said: “We were called at 10.30am to reports of two teenage boys who had fainted.

“We sent two ambulance and both of the patients were taken to the Alexandra hospital.”

Headteacher Paul Topping said the boys were now doing fine but were being taken to hospital as a precaution.

“It is not clear what caused the boys to collapse but it is a very stressful time for students who are collecting their results.”
