Bromsgrove Indie band to perform at Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge

UP AND COMING Bromsgrove Indie band Hollow People will perform at Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge tonight (Friday).

The group, who formed in 2014 and cite The Stone Roses, Blur and The Smiths among their musical influences, will take to the stage at 8pm Hollow People is made up of five members, who are all 18 years old.

George Stanhope heads up the band, which also features George Callaghan on lead  guitar, Adam Plummer on rhythm guitar, Will Cooke on bass guitar and Harry Southerton on drums.

Hollow People have already featured on several major radio stations, including BBC Hereford and Worcester Introducing, SRB Birmingham and EGH Sheffield.




They have also amassed  more than 5,000 plays on soundclound, are due to play a gig at the O2 Academy in London and they will support fellow Indie band The Sherlocks in the Second City next month.

George said: “Supporting The Sherlocks is going to be great because they are in the middle of a nationwide tour to promote their latest single, Escapde, and are playing at Leeds and Reading festivals as well.


“They’ve played around 500 gigs so it will be good for us to experience how we sound compared to a band at the level that we are aiming for’.’

Hollow People are due to release a four-song EP later in the year.
