A BROMSGROVE bakery has joined forces with Redditch and Bromsgrove Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) to raise awareness about the condition.

Lorita’s Bakehouse has pledged to take steps to become a more dementia-friendly environment.

Bakery owner, Lorita Cornish said: “We have decided to become a dementia-friendly business as there are so many amongst us who have dementia.

“People should be more aware of the condition and learn how they can help support everyone affected.”

DAA coordinator for the West Midlands Kat Horner said: “It’s fantastic to have our first independent business in Bromsgrove joining us.

“Supporting local people affected by dementia is something we can all do.

“We would love to see more businesses following the example of Lorita’s Bakehouse by taking action to make Bromsgrove a more dementia friendly place to live and work.”

Anyone interested in joining the Redditch and Bromsgrove Dementia Action Alliance should email Kat Horner on [email protected] or call 01543 255955.
