AVONCROFT Museum is offering a good old-fashioned family day out to end the summer holidays this bank holiday Monday (August 31).
The day promises fun for all the family with costumed re-enactors guiding visitors through traditional rural activities, such as willow weaving and making corn favours.
Anyone who’s never tried welly wanging or folk dancing will be able to give it a go, and there will be a live jazz band playing a medley of summer classics.
Pony rides, swing boats, archery and the popular miniature railway will also be available.
Specially trained windmill operators will show also guests how to prepare and work a 19th century postmill.
