THERE will be plenty of new films screened in the new year at Bromsgrove’s Artrix.

The indefatigable Daniel Craig returns as James Bond to battle his old nemesis in Spectre.

In Brooklyn, Irish-American actress, Saoirse Ronan delivers an authentic and emotive portrayal of young Elilis Lacey which got her shortlisted for a Golden Globe.

Maggie Smith is already tipped for an Oscar for her lead role in The Lady in the Van – the hilarious, bittersweet story of a vagrant woman who sets up home in a van on Alan Bennett’s driveway.

In the funny and uplifting Brunt, Bradley Cooper stars as a disgraced chef who returns to London to redeem himself and strive for three Michelin stars.

And Tom Hanks is the hot seat in Steven Spielberg’s excellent Cold War drama, Bridge of Spies – about the CIA’s attempts to rescue a pilot detained in the USSR.
