A FUNDAY will be held at a Bromsgrove opticians tomorrow (Saturday) to raise funds for town charity Libby Mae’s Little Angels.

The event, between 11am and 3pm at Specsavers in the High Street, will feature a cake sale, face-painting and games.

Staff will also be dressing in pink – the charity’s colour – to show their support.

Store director Mark Gibson said: “This is a cause which is particularly close to our hearts as the charity works to supply resources to local neo-natal units, providing care for babies who are ill or born prematurely.

“In the past we have supported charities such as the British Heart Foundation and Bliss, and we are proud to now lend our support to Libby Mae’s Little Angels.”

Libby Mae’s Little Angels was started by Bromsgrove couple Charlotte and Richard Sharratt in memory of their daughter Libby Mae who was born at Birmingham Women’s Hospital on April 26, but passed away two weeks later.

Libby Mae had a rare condition whereby a vein between her left lung and her heart did not develop properly.

The charity has now raised more than £65,000 for neo-natal units across the Midlands.

Visit the store at 131 High Street, log onto www.specsavers.co.uk/bromsgrove or call 01527 579815.
