A Lions tale for young Catshill readers

YOUNGSTERS from Catshill First School have been given a boost after the Bromsgrove Lions donated £100 to enhance the pupils’ reading scheme.

And Lions president Bob Wilkes and trustee Marilyn Harris visited the school to present the cheque, meet some of the children and see some of the books the donation would be spent on.

The £100 will be spent on books to engage and improve the reading of years three and four.

Bob spoke to the children about what books they liked reading and which ones they had at home.




He added reading was a life skill and that he was pleased to be able to help the pupils at Catshill become better readers.

The school’s headteacher Adam Rivett said: “We want to thank the Bromsgrove Lions for their generosity and know their donation will impact on the reading and learning of many children in our school.


“We are incredibly grateful.” he added,
