SCOTT Adey-Linforth wants Bromsgrove Sporting to embark on a run in the FA Trophy this season after the Rouslers won 3-0 at Barwell to reach the first round proper.
Goals from Billy Shaw, Jack Newell and debutant James Sanderson sealed Sporting’s place in the next round at Kirkby Road despite a late red card for Kobe Hall.
The Rouslers returned to Barwell just weeks after beating the same opposition in the Southern League Premier Central.
And Adey-Linforth hopes Sporting will go far in the competition after the club exited the FA Cup at the first hurdle earlier this season.
Adey-Linforth said: “It’s a great tournament and I’ve been part of teams that have got far in it.
“You get some big teams and there’s the possibility of going to some big grounds.
“After the disappointment of our FA Cup run, we really want to have a go at this.
“It’s a big win. It was a dangerous game because we played them so recently.
“We had to be on it and we were outstanding. We didn’t put them to the sword in the last game but the boys did that this time.
“We defended better than we did last time.
“It’s a big period of league fixtures for us now.”
Bromsgrove are next in action against Bury Town on Saturday, October 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
