SCOTT Adey-Linforth branded Bromsgrove Sporting’s heavy FA Cup defeat at Evesham United as ‘unacceptable’.
The Rouslers suffered a second-half collapse against the Robins in a 5-2 defeat at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.
And Adey-Linforth admits his side need to show a reaction to the defeat when they host St Ives Town this weekend.
Adey-Linforth said: “We were brilliant in the first half, we were so in control.
“The second half is unacceptable. All of a sudden we’re four-two down and the game’s gone.
“It’s inexcusable defending. The players know it’s not good enough.
“We came out in the second half and threw a game of football away.
“We’re conceding too many goals at the moment. It’s something we need to stop.
“We need a reaction. It can’t go on. We need to put it right for our supporters.”
The Rouslers led at the break courtesy of quickfire goals from Nick Clayton-Phillips and Billy Shaw after Levi Steele put the home side ahead.
However, Evesham stunned Sporting with three goals in the space of nine second-half minutes as Reegan Messenger scored a brace while Andre Wright also found the net.
And Lewis Middleton added a late fifth goal for the home side as Sporting’s FA Cup campaign ended at the first round qualifying stage.
Bromsgrove host St Ives on Saturday, September 6 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
