SCOTT Adey-Linforth admits Bromsgrove Sporting lost ‘total composure’ in their FA Trophy defeat against Leek Town.

Sporting conceded three second-half goals in a 3-0 defeat against Leek in the first round tie at the F. Ball Community Stadium.

A handball from Jack Kelly gave Leek the chance to break the deadlock from the penalty spot just past the hour mark which the home side duly took.

And Adey-Linforth felt his side did not react to going behind which also left the Rouslers chasing the contest.

Adey-Linforth said: “We’re disappointed. We played really well in the first half. We looked threatening, especially with the ball.

“We wanted to go to another level in the second half but the timing of the mistake and the penalty kills us.

“You saw the deflation go out of everybody. We’re chasing the game then and they score two goals off the back of it.

“Our reaction on the back of it wasn’t good enough. We lost total composure and played into their hands.

“We’ve played three games and not scored a goal and goals change games.

“Going forward we need to start being a threat in the final third more and stop being so soft at the back.

“We need a reaction. We’ve hit a bit of a rut but the only way out of that is hard work.”

A brace from Alex Hurst either side of Oliver Shenton’s strike condemned the Rouslers to defeat in Staffordshire.

Leek also play at the same level as Sporting and ply their trade in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

The home side broke the deadlock on 62 minutes when Hurst scored from the penalty spot after Kelly handled the ball in the box.

And Leek doubled their lead on 81 minutes when Shenton drove a low effort into the net through a crowd of bodies following a set-piece.

The hosts completed the scoring three minutes into injury time as Hurst curled a low shot into the corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Bromsgrove are next in action against Leiston on Saturday, November 1 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
