FOOTBALL - Scott Adey-Linforth admits Bromsgrove Sporting 'brought back to reality' after Spalding defeat

SCOTT Adey-Linforth admits Bromsgrove Sporting’s defeat against Spalding United brought his side back to reality.

Sporting surrendered a two-goal lead in a 3-2 defeat against Spalding at the Victoria Ground last weekend as both teams finished the game with 10-men.

The Rouslers are now preparing to host Needham Market at the Victoria Ground this weekend before then making the short trip to play local rivals Redditch United on Bank Holiday Monday.

And Sporting boss Adey-Linforth admits his side must lick their wounds after conceding late on in defeat against Spalding.

Adey-Linforth said: “We had the highs of the derby win against Alvechurch and then back to reality when we’re on the other end of it.

“The goal just before half time gave them a lift and we just never really got going in the second half.

“We were so wasteful with the ball and kept inviting pressure. It’s always gutting to lose a game of football like that.

“It’s been a tough first week of the season physically and mentally.

“No game in this league is easy but we’ll lick our wounds and come back ready to go again.”

Bromsgrove are next in action against Needham Market on Saturday, August 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.

Sporting then travel to neighbours Redditch on Monday, August 25 with kick-off at 3pm at the Valley Stadium.
