BRUMMIE TV chef Rustie Lee made a special appearance at the Royal Oak pub in Catshill on Friday night.

The event was organised as a special birthday surprise for one of the regulars Kel Kelly who was heading off to Japan the next day for the Rugby World Cup.

Another guest there was former England international footballer and West Bromwich Albion legend Derek Statham who had flown in from Marbella especially for the occasion.

Derek’s son was born with a heart condition and funds were also collected during the evening for the British Heart Foundation. Cash is still coming in so the final total is not yet known.

Rustie laughed and joked and had selfies with regulars and attendees also enjoyed a celebratory buffet.

Dave (Curly) Cahill said: “She was absolutely fantastic and even got behind the bar to pull a pint.”
