A TOTAL of 149 drivers across West Mercia have now been arrested for drink-driving and a further 97 for drug-driving since the start of December.
And ahead of the new year, police have reiterated their warning to people to make sure if they are going out to make sure they plan in advance their journey home, whether that be via public transport, taxi or a designated driver.
People are also warned to make sure they are sober enough to drive the next morning if they have places to go as they may still be over the limit.
Road safety charity Brake is calling on the Government to introduce a zero tolerance policy over drink-driving as there is in other countries.
