Parents will be able to grab a bargain at Bromsgrove's first ever Mum2mum market

PARENTS are being urged to grab a bargain at the first ever Mum2mum market being held in Bromsgrove next Saturday (May 20).

It takes place from 10am to midday in Parkside Hall, Market Street, and will have a variety of nearly new items on sale, including toys, clothes, bedding, pushchairs, maternity, feeding equipment and items for children up to the age of six.

The event, organised by mum Jo Evans, follows four successful sales in Redditch. Two of those were organised by Jo who took over the Mum2mum franchise for North Worcestershire.

Jo said: “My friend Emma runs the South Birmingham one suggested I have a go and I thought ‘why not?’.

“I saw how well they went down in Redditch and thought it would be ideal to try one in Bromsgrove as I know there are a lot of young families which could benefit from them.

“Babies and young children grow so fast and progress quickly to the next size up, meaning they often hardly wear clothes before they are too small.

“By selling them on, parents can generate cash and others can get a bargain – all of the nearly new items are of a high quality,” she added.

Jo said she was surprised how quickly all the places were claimed by sellers in Bromsgrove.

As well as the nearly new items, there will also be other baby and child related businesses at the event with special offers, such as a swimming school, a photographer and a company which specialises in keepsake casts of babies’ hand and footprints.

Representatives will be there from two charities – Richard Atkinson from The Baby Ava Support Foundation who will be selling items to raise funds and Karen from the Acorns Children’s Hospice shop in Bromsgrove High Street, who will be collecting donations for the store at the end of the sale.

There will be cupcakes and refreshments and the first 100 people through the door will receive a free shopping bag.

The sale is sponsored by Aqua Jems, a local baby/children’s swimming school ran by Jennie Mitchell a local Bromsgrove mum who will be at the sale.

Jo added: “We want as many parents, grandparents and friends to come along, chat to like-minded people and see what is on offer.”

And she said there would also be future Mum2mum markets in the town with the next one scheduled for September.
