Cinema nights at Artrix set for return

Bromsgrove Editorial 16th May, 2024 Updated: 16th May, 2024   0

A NEW cinema is set to open at Bromsgrove’s Artrix next month on an initial one-month trial period.

Film-lovers are being urged to go along as Bromsgrove Community Arts, which runs the venue, gauges the community’s interest and the viability of resuming long-term cinema operations at Artrix.

The line-up for the special reopening includes a diverse range of films to cater to all tastes, featuring highly anticipated titles such as Oppenheimer, The Great Escaper, Barbie, Wonka, La La Land,

Sing, Rocky Horror Picture Show, A Man Called Otto, Mamma Mia!, Quadrophenia, The Goonies, and One Life.

A Bromsgrove Community Arts (BCA) spokesperson said everyone was enthusiastic about the forthcoming new screenings.

“Volunteers are thrilled to announce the return of cinema showings and look forward to welcoming the community to enjoy cinema once again at Artrix.

“There will be cinema snacks and a full bar open for guests to enjoy.

“Car parking is free of charge for visitors.”

Subject to a successful trial, the BCA aims to reopen the cinema showing new releases and other special one-off events such as National Theatre screenings and live streams of opera and ballet.

The box office is also open to allow the less tech savvy to purchase tickets at the venue.

Box office opening hours are 6pm to 8pm on Mondays, from 10am to 12.30pm on Wednesdays and between 10am and 2pm on Saturdays (and all days which have a show at the venue – at least 30 minutes prior to doors).
