New young people's market to launch in Bromsgrove - traders sought

Bromsgrove Editorial 3rd May, 2026   0

A NEW Young Traders Market will be coming to Bromsgrove to celebrate ‘Love Your Local Market (LYLM)’ and those aged 16 and over are being urged to get involved, writes Zaynab Hamdy.

Alongside the regular offering, the new stalls’ introduction will be a celebration of different generations of market traders – from those at the end of their careers to those on their first day trading.

The young traders day is designed to give young people the chance to build confidence, gain real world experience of trading and learn to think like an entrepreneur.

This opportunity is open to anyone 16 and over, who wants to platform their product or service in a well-established environment.

Bromsgrove District Council leader, Coun Karen May, said: “The Love Your Local Market event is always a lovely annual celebration of our history as a market town, and this year is no different.

“This opportunity to experience a day as a market trader is invaluable for the young people who take it up, whilst also being important for

Bromsgrove as a town to ensure we nod to our history whilst also looking towards the future.”

Insurance for young traders on the day will be free, ensuring anyone wanting to attend and give the day a go, without an existing business, can do just that.

The only charge for the day will be £15 for a stall which will get traders a gazebo or tent, tables, sheets and access to electricity if required.

The event will be in Bromsgrove High Street, between 9am and 4pm on Saturday, May 16,
