BROMSGROVE’S Artrix will launch its first musical theatre group, for performers aged 16 and over.
The much-loved community arts centre will start writing a new chapter with the group, creating more opportunities for people to get involved in theatre, performance and the arts within the community.
Artrix Musical Theatre Group will officially begin rehearsals in September, with its debut production set to be the hit musical Kinky Boots, to run from May 26 to 29 next year.
Weekly rehearsals will take place every Tuesday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, beginning on September 8.
To celebrate the launch, Artrix will host a special launch event from 5pm to 8pm on Sunday, August 16.
That evening will give prospective members of the group the opportunity to meet the creative team, hear more about the new association, learn about Kinky Boots and find out how to get involved.
A spokesperson for the Artrix said: “Whether you are an experienced performer, a complete newcomer or simply passionate about musical theatre, the group aims to create an exciting, welcoming and inclusive environment for adults who love to perform.”
