THERE will be plenty of medieval merriment and food at a banquet being held at St John’s Parish Hall.

The three-course meal will take place from 7pm on January 31 and those who go along are urged to dress for the era.

The food will include Serfs’ Soup for starters, followed by a chicken and herb salad and a jacket potato, along with a dessert.

Entertainment will be provided by the Jester of the Court who will be leading the fun and plenty of games.

Churchwarden Shan Moule said: “The wenches and serfs of the church of St Johns are hoping to plenty of guests for a night of good food and entertainment.”

Tickets, which include a warm welcoming drink and live entertainment, are £12 and are available by calling 01527 878801.

Those who go along should take along their own drinks.

Funds raised will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the historic St John’s Church.
